Ken & Constance Javor

Unit 183 Denton

I am also delighted to announce Constance and Ken Javor, Unit 183 Denton, as the recipients of the ACBL Charitable Recognition Appointments. This prestigious lifetime honor is awarded to individuals who actively engage in and/or encourage others to participate in charitable

endeavors. Ken and Constance Javor run the Denton Bridge Studio in Denton.

Constance is a native Texan who was raised on the Texas Gulf Coast. She and husband Ken raised two children, and are now enjoying their four grandchildren who live nearby.

During her career as a teacher and Secondary Science Curriculum Specialist Constance taught in

nine school districts across two states. She and Ken married in 1969 as college juniors and learned bridge at that time. For many years, they played only social bridge, but after moving to Denton  in 2013 they became hooked on playing duplicate. Their enthusiasm for the game led them to obtain their Club Director and Local Sectional Director certifications.

Ken was fortunate to participate in lessons taught by Jo Bryan, Kim Brinkman, and the late Tom Miyake. All three instructors were excellent, helping to improve Ken’s game. He served as a director for BBO, the Denton Bridge Studio, and Robson Ranch BC. Additionally, he held the roles of club manager and tournament director for the Denton Bridge Studio, and served as president of the Robson Ranch BC.

Ken’s partnership with his wife is both challenging and rewarding. Grateful for the many people who took them under their wings and tutored them to become better players, they strive to pay it forward by encouraging and helping new players they encounter.
