Sam Dinkin, Austin, will be discussing the math for why bidding games aggressively is effective, especially when scoring at IMPs. He will present a series of example hands that illustrate the rationale. 

 

About Sam

Sam started playing bridge at young age and has achieved national and international recognition. He wants bridge to thrive in our district and everywhere. Sam had great bridge success playing this year and last.

In March Sam’s team made the Elite 8 of the Vanderbilt Teams at the Spring NABC.

In May his team was runner up and his pair, the crowd favorite, in the USBF Mixed Trials.

In July, Sam made it to the semis of the GNT.

In September the Sweet 16 of the Marrakech Transnational Teams.

Also placing 2nd in the Marrakech B-A-M B final.

In November 17th place qualifier in the Soloway Knockout Teams in Atlanta NABC.

He also volunteered as coach for two US Teams in world competition including the USA2 Junior Women's Team he cosponsored and mentored that brought back a gold medal for the Open Transnational in August.

Sam was a director, club manager, fund raiser and bridge columnist in college. Sam designed and plays the system Inferno Machine.

Work: Sam designs, implements, and advises in high stack auctions. His other hobbies are hiking, reading science fiction.

Personal: Lynn Baker and Sam have been married 30 years. Their 25-year-old daughter, Mahria, also lives and works in Austin.
